Ministry Overview

Sarah began to feel led to join Wycliffe BibleTranslators through a banquet she heard about in the Northwest Hills college group followed by a dinner theater put on by the organization. She had no idea that there are over 6,800 languages spoken in the world and that so many language groups don’t have the Bible in their language. In 2013 there are still approximately 1,967 language groups without any Scripture in their language. Approximately 209 million people can’t read God’s word because it isn’t translated into a language they can understand well.

That broke Sarah’s heart and she felt God leading her to help provide His word to people who don’t have it yet. So she joined the organization, completed linguistic training in Dallas, TX, then moved to West Asia in 2006.

Sarah serves in a country where over 70 languages are spoken. Only three of them have a whole Bible and eight have a New Testament. There are twelve language groups with Bible translation in progress. So much work still needs to be done!

Sarah enjoys working in a translation project to help provide God’s word to the people of West Asia. The team Sarah works with is developing exegetical and other supporting materials for translation projects across the region, which will significantly help the process of translation into the remaining languages.
