Arrival
What to Expect This Easter
People usually start arriving about 15 minutes before service — though we know Easter mornings can be a little hectic (no judgment if you're running late)
If it’s your first time, we recommend arriving about 10 minutes early to meet our friendly volunteers, grab a warm drink from the beverage station in the courtyard, and get settled.
When you arrive, head into the courtyard where you’ll be welcomed with smiles and free coffee, tea, or hot chocolate — our little treat to start your morning right!
If you're new or visiting, swing by the Connect Desk or chat with a greeter at the lobby entrance. We’d love to meet you, answer your questions, and help you feel at home.
We’re so glad you’ll be celebrating Easter with us!
-
We’re offering three identical Easter services at 8:00am, 9:30am, and 11:00am. Each service will last about 1 hour and 5 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes. With a mix of music and a teaching from the Bible!
Brunch Between Services
We’d love for you to stick around before or after the service you attend. We’ll be serving a complimentary Easter brunch between services — a perfect chance to connect, enjoy some great food, and celebrate together. -
Come as you are! You’ll find a mix of people in casual clothes and others dressed up a bit more, with everything in between. Whether you’re in jeans and a t-shirt or suit and tie, you’ll fit right in. We care more about you than what you’re wearing!
-
If you’ve got middle or high schoolers, we’ve got a spot just for them! Our Youth Service happens at 9:30am! In our courtyard, find either the High School or Middle School sign. You will drop off and reconnect after service with your students there!
Many of our students will attend the youth service and then attend either the 8am or 11am service with friends or family!

What Did They Just Say? Church Words: Explained
Whether you’re brand new to church or you’ve been around for a while, sometimes you hear words that make you think, Wait… what does that even mean?
No worries — we’ve got you covered! As you join us this Easter, here’s a quick, simple guide to help explain a few of those “churchy” words you might hear along the way!
-
"Amen" means "so be it" or "truly"—it’s a way of agreeing with something, especially in prayer. When people say "Amen" at the end of a prayer (or sometimes during the teaching), they’re saying, "I believe this," or "Let it be done."
-
Worship is showing love and respect to God. It’s more than just singing—it’s any way we honor Him, like praying, serving others, or living in a way that pleases Him. Worship is about putting God first and recognizing who He is.
-
Repentance means turning away from wrong choices and turning toward God. It’s more than just feeling sorry—it’s a change of heart and direction. It means recognizing our mistakes, asking God for forgiveness, and choosing to live differently with His help.
-
"Born again" means starting a new life with God.
It’s not a physical birth but a spiritual one—when someone chooses to trust in Jesus, their heart and life are changed. It’s about leaving behind an old way of living and beginning a new life with God, full of His love, forgiveness, and guidance..
-
Baptism is a public act of showing that you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus. It involves being immersed in water as a symbol of dying to your old life and being raised to a new life in Christ. It’s a way of expressing faith, obedience to Jesus, and joining the Christian community.

-
Communion is a practice where we remember Jesus’ sacrifice. It involves eating bread and drinking juice as symbols of Jesus’ body and blood, given for us. It’s a way of connecting with Jesus, reflecting on His love and forgiveness, and sharing in the unity of the church.
At NWH, we take communion about every 6-7 weeks with crackers and juice. This act is open to anyone who has trusted in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
-
Salvation is God rescuing us from sin and giving us eternal life with Him. It happens when we trust in Jesus, believing He died and rose again to forgive our sins. It’s a free gift, not something we earn—just God’s love and grace.
Sanctification is the process of becoming more like Jesus. After salvation, God works in our hearts to change us, helping us grow in faith and live the way He designed us to. It’s a lifelong journey of learning, growing, and becoming more like Him.
-
God’s glory is the greatness, beauty, and holiness of who God is. It’s the visible display of His power, goodness, and love. When we talk about giving God glory, it means acknowledging His worth and honoring Him for who He is—recognizing that He is above all things and deserves our praise.
We believe God's glory is something we experience, honor, and reflect back to Him in worship and how we live our lives.
-
Community Groups are small groups of people who get together regularly to hang out, have real conversations about life and faith, and support each other. It’s one of the best ways to make friends and feel connected here at Northwest Hills!

Another name for the Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is a book that tells the story of God and His relationship with people.
It’s made up of two main parts: the Old Testament, which includes history, laws, and prophecies before Jesus, and the New Testament, which focuses on Jesus’ life, teachings, and the early Christian church.
We fully believe it’s God’s message to the world, showing His love, truth, and plan for us!
Don’t have a bible of your own? You can grab one for free in any of the seat baskets on a Sunday morning!
